As we say farewell to Summer and a big Hello! to Autumn, it can only mean one thing - layering up the blankets, cosy onesies, lots of hot chocolate and of course the scented candles. There is something so distinctively therapeutic about seeing a candle burn and inhaling the aromas as it slowly lingers around your room. It makes me unwind, relaxed and sends me deep in to my happy place.
I was sent the Gardenia Soy Wax Candle by the lovely Rebecca from MBotanicals to review and I've been using it from the day it arrived. The candle itself is made out of Soy Wax which was one of the main reasons why I opted to review this product. I have never used Soy candles before, so this was definitely all new to me. Soy wax candles generally last a lot longer with an approx. 30-50% more 'life' expectancy than paraffin candles. And has a much cleaner burn. It contains no toxins, carcinogens or pollutants which is perfect for people who have allergies. note: it is also Vegan friendly.
I used the candle in the evening, approx. 1 - 2hour before bed. I love being able to still smell the scent as I fall asleep. Gardenia is a white summer flowering plant which originates from Asia (find out more here). It has a refreshing top note of Jasmine and a base note of Coconut and vanilla. The scent is sweet, but definitely not overpowering. I personally love the strong scent of Jasmine as me of the orient.
The packaging is simple, yet elegant and sits perfectly amongst my bedroom ornaments. It doesn't stand out compared to a lot of other candles in the market - the packaging has no strong or bold colours. That, however, doesn't detour from the fact that it does a really good job at sending you in to tranquility and relaxation. It does make a great little addition to my bed side table, sitting amongst my books and frames.
At an affordable price of £15.99 and with a range of scents to choose from, it is definitely a great bargain if you're a candle fan. MBotanicals candles also makes a great gift, especially as Christmas is just 3-months away.
